5.2 Million children under 3 live in poverty without ENOUGH DIAPERS to keep them clean, secure & healthy.

[2]

Low income families pay twice as much for diapers. Limited weekly income prohibits them from purchasing diapers at bulk discounts. Instead they purchase diapers on a weekly basis from grocery and convenience stores where diaper prices are higher. Food Stamps and WIC are nutrition programs only and do not cover basic necessities like diapers. [3]

3 out of 5 parents living in poverty miss an average of 4 days of work every month because they lack the diapers required to have their baby in childcare. [4] This creates instability in income, risks unemployment, and can result in homelessness.

These families look to charities for help, but the charities don’t have ENOUGH DIAPERS. Miracles Diaper Bank is committed to providing charities with ENOUGH DIAPERS to meet the need.

Provide Enough Diapers

ENOUGH DIAPERS changes lives.

Problem:

An insufficient diaper supply stretches time between changes and unsoiled diapers are often reused to make limited resources last.

ENOUGH DIAPERS:

Protect children from experiencing painful rashes, urinary tract infections, skin infections, and even kidney damage.

Problem:

Families living in poverty spend an average of 14% of their household income on diapers making diapers one of the top 4 competing expenditures along with shelter (29%), food (17%), and utilities (12%) each month.

[1]

ENOUGH DIAPERS:

Allows families to focus their limited resources on providing basic needs like food, shelter and utilities, that are critical to their families.

Problem:

Parents feel inadequate when they cannot provide for their child’s most basic needs. The cry from a baby that is uncomfortable from a wet diaper or a rash causes stress, depression, and anxiety in both parent and child.

ENOUGH DIAPERS:

Restores parents’ confidence through meeting their child’s most basic needs.  Children are healthier, more secure, and feel stronger bonding.

Problem:

Childcare centers require parents to provide disposable diapers – no diapers, no daycare… no employment for parents.

ENOUGH DIAPERS:

Makes it possible for parents to go to work and have their child in daycare.
